Kim’s Approach
-
Sports medicine looks at the whole movement system like an engine. Pain arises due to a failure in the system; an under functioning part of the whole. Where the pain is showing up and how it is showing up does not necessarily mean that that is what or where the problem is. We get the right muscles to do the right jobs in the right alignment with the right coordination. Neuromuscular system synergy with fascial chain length balanced with optimal stabilizer capacity to support your desired levels of physical activity and feel comfortable and good in your body. If you have an alignment issue in the car that caused abnormal tire wear you don’t just change the tires, you fix the alignment. The same is with our bodies, abnormal loading patterns cause abnormal joint wear and tension patterns due to uneven distribution of loads and forces through the whole system.
-
Our movement patterns are like a computer programs; they can develop bugs or errors over our life time. Stress, bad posture or movement habits, trauma, avoidance patterns, learned perceptions and reactions to pain can also influence these patterns as well. Harnessing the power of the brain, we can Debug, reprogram dysfunctional patterns, plug them back into the system and then run the whole system clean.
